Stylish New Years Eve 2011

Where are you planning to spend the last moments of 2011?  In a fabulous and vibrant city?  Escaping to a quiet island? or enjoying your home city while everyone else is jet setting!

There are some spectacular fireworks displays to see in Paris, New York, Rio, Hong Kong…

These cities all look fun and fabulous, but one of us with little ones is swapping a sequined dress for swimmers and sunscreen. Just taking the time out to enjoy the sun, sand and ocean with my little family…and getting plenty of much needed rest.

Where are you spending NYE, maybe I will cancel my plans!!

Organised Christmas – Table Decorations

Christmas place setting

Just 7 little days to Christmas.  Presents are wrapped and stacked neatly under the tree.  Menu and shopping list is on the fridge. Kids are super excited, packets of reindeer food are being distributed to friends (details on our facebook page)…just the finishing touches awaiting your attention.

As  Christmas lunch or dinner (or both) is usually the big family meal of the year, the way to make it extra special, is not just the lovingly prepared dishes, but the mood set by the table decorations.  Your colour and style would match your previously chosen room deco.  Here’s just a few stylish options…more on our Pinterest ‘Stylish Christmas‘ board.

We hope you have a peaceful and stylishly organised Christmas, so after all your hard work, you can enjoy watching your family and friends together on Christmas day.

Organised Christmas – Menu

Two weeks left to get motivated, get moving and get your organised Christmas menu ready!

As mothers, we usually arrange the Christmas fare.  Here at Stylish Little Me we tend to think  it’s best left to the mothers of fashionable cuisine to have us prepped and ready for the main meal of the year.

These fab mum’s show you how to make meals look and taste fabulous and take only a moment or two to bring together on the day; the gorgeous Nigella Lawson (download the app) or Donna Hay.

Nigella Lawson on line

For something more traditional, I think Martha Stewart would be top of the list.  An Italian twist would see us thumbing the pages of Silver Spoon or flicking through episodes of Lydia’s Kitchen.  Handing the task over to the boys? Bill Granger, Pete Evans or Neil Perry all show case relatively simple dishes that even the men can’t ruin on the bbq!

I think Donna has my vote with Almond stuffed Trout…

So by the end of this week, you should have made the decision on the main ingredients for your Organised Christmas Menu; seafood, turkey, ham or duck and ordered it.  Match your wines…bubbles, savignon blanc, rose, riesling, viogner, pinot, shiraz, dessert wine.  Purchase now and save yourself the last minute rush around.

Next week is the last week till Christmas Day and we have some divine table decorating ideas and then that will be your Organised Christmas – menu to decorations for 2011.

Try not to spend to much time at the shops and have a lovely, peaceful and stylish week!

P.S don’t forget to keep an eye on our daily updated Pinterest boards for ideas on wrapping, decorating and gifts for women, men & the stylish little ones!  x

Organised Christmas – Decorations

Coloured Baubles for Christmas

Three weeks, less than twenty days till the 25th December 2011.

If you haven’t already, its time to put up the Christmas tree.  Choices are; Traditional live pine trees {needles all over the house, not just on installation but until it’s back out the door}, artificial re-usable Christmas trees, available in all sorts of fabulous colours, or something crafty and creative if you have lots of time to spare!

The choices in colour are endless; traditional red & green, pastels in pink or blue, modern white or natural…all with gold or silver sprinkled in the Christmas spirit.

This is particularly gorgeous, especially for small children, very Alice In Wonderland with a vintage twist!  Here’s how to DIY  with Torie Jayne.

We have been very busy pinning lots of other decorating ideas on our Pinterest Board ‘Stylish Decorations‘. We hope it gives you some creative ideas, because now its only three weeks to your Organised Christmas, make it beautiful with decorations colour co-ordinated rather than picked up in the two dollar shop on Christmas eve!

Let us know which decorations you love this year!
